Awesome! Thank you for doing this blog hop.

Instead of typing it all out here, you can go to http://theunfocusedlife.blogspot.com/2011/06/my-first-quilt.html to see how I got into quilting.

A little tidbit about me: My favorite colors are purple and green. However, I rarely use purple hues in decorating/crafting/quilting. How weird is that!

Janet S.

I enjoy reading everyone's blogs. Just wish there were more hours in the day so that I could get in some sewing:)
My favourites to work with are black, grey, and white.

Fran

I began quilting a little over a year ago after discovering Oh! Fransson's wonderful blog. I found her designs & tutorials so inspiring & relatively easy to follow (for a newbie particularly!). I was immediately hooked & have loved discovering all of the wonderful quilting bloggers who give so much, I am immensely grateful, thanks.

Ana

Great giveaway! Thank you so much

I love everything about quilting but especially playing with fabric and color. I have tried pretty much every quilting technique but needleturn applique is still my favorite.

Michell

I am not long a quilter but do love it. For a number of years I use to sew clothes for the kids then they got into labelled things so do not sew for them now...though Miss 15 is waiting on a skirt she has asked me to make

I started quilting because I wanted to make my Mum a quilt for her 80th birthday!

I'd like to share how much I love going to quilt retreat with my mother each summer (we both started quilting at the same time so we can actually both learn from each other each time we meet). I moved to Malta from Sweden 5 years ago and this one week of quilt retreat is something we've done together every summer since I moved and it really is one of the best weeks of the year.

Not only do we get to sit opposite each other for a full week and just talk(we never get to do that otherwise), sew and laugh, only us and 25 other lovely ladies in the room with us which have become our close friends in the past few years. It's also the only days I'm completely off work in the year and I wouldn't trade them for anything else in the world! I love my mother, I love quilting and I love spending time with friends, it's the best!

Carol

I started quilting about 12 years ago and after finishing my City & Guilds (4 years) I started teaching and it is the most wonderful thing to do.

Peggy Gibbs

I would love a chance to win this wonderful book for my quilting friend, who makes lap quilts for seniors and children from cross stitched squares for my group called World of Charity Stitching, at http://www.worldofcharitystitching.blogspot.com/
Thanks,
Peggy

Great patterns you are going to give away and a nice magazine. Thanks!
My favorite colors are so many: red and old colors together or just very bright blue and yellow. I am busy blog hopping already and I am a participant as well! So much fun! Kind greetings from the Netherlands!

Martina

Love those patterns! My favourite colors are blue and green and some whithe. I am still collecting fabrics for a blue and white flowergarden quilt.

Donah

Quilting is a learning method for me. I learn something new with every block I sew.

Hi, I only started quilting a year ago and have never looked back...wish I had started earlier, there is so much I want to do. I now live in France but am originally from the UK. Thanks for the chance to win .... I would love 100 Blocks.

What a wonderful giveaway! I've been wanting that magazine, too. :0)

I started quilting back in 1994. I should say "piecing" because I would piece things, but never quilted them. I have just recently started finishing up some of those long time UFO's, along with new things, of course. There are a couple posted on my blog now.

Thank you for the chance at a GREAT giveaway!

i am typing this at the dinner table (my husband and i finished our dinners a while ago) and my two little girls are giggling so hard they can't eat their meatloaf. we stripped them down so that they wouldn't get their clothes dirty, so they're naked and giggling - even better. one will only eat for the promise of treats, and the other eats for applause. too silly.

Pam C

I started quilting about 10 years ago when my quilting mentor shared a quilt she made with me and said "you can do it!"

sandra parsons

I like you on F/B and left a comment. :)

Mom C

Great patterns. They look fun, interesting and not too difficult. I've been sewing forever, I make Renaissance hats, mostly because I can use such fun fabric. Also christmas pajamas and I got tired of all the left over fabric so I started strip piecing. Then tried FMQ, which I love and then I got into more shape piecing. I love everything about quilting, it is becoming my passion.

sandra parsons

I have been quilting since around 1990, went to a class and learnt how to make a sampler quilt by hand. Then I was HOOKED!! I love pink, green and cream combos.as well as brights such as Bliss by Bonnie and Camille!!
Your patterns are lovely especially Cupid Shuffle and Shuffle Step. Thanks for the chance to win. Merry Xmas! Sandy. :)

@pril

Thanks for a great giveaway. I would love the patterns. I'm ready to make snowcream.

Lovely giveaway ... thanks for the opportunity.

Lisa Cox

Thanks for the chance to win. I just started quilting. I started because I wanted to give my mother a mother's day gift that I had made, sort of like we did as kids.

Gwen Windham

I have loved crafting for as long as I can remember... I grew up loving my crayons and color books-- and can remember, at a very young age, making extra clothes for my paperdolls... Now I enjoy quilting, craft painting, gardening, and playing with my 2 shelties and 2 cats. Thank you so much for the opportunity to win one of your wonderful prizes! :-)

Love your patterns! Many years ago I saw a pattern for a Christmas Tree quilt to hang on the wall and I just loved it. I bought the pattern with no idea how to make a quilt but I just did it. Little did I know that it would be the start of a wonderful addiction.

I guess it's because both of my grandmothers did. I love fabric but I've not actually quilted anything yet. I am making string blocks. Thanks

Sherry

I have found so many wonderful blogs on this blog hop. I have just begun quilting this past year or so and have learned so much. I have been sewing for many years but this new area of creativity is so fun. I often use designs that involve embroidery because that was my first creative outlet. Thanks for the chance to win.

I taught myself to sew a couple of years ago, and quilting seemed right up my alley as I love puzzles and math. I made a baby quilt for a friend and haven't looked back! Thanks for the giveaway!

Janet

I am about to go out skating down on the lake, on a grey, but not too cold, winter day. Have to hurry as it gets dark early. Thanks for a chance to win.

I haven't purchased a copy of the new 100 Blocks mag, so I would love to win. But I'd also love to win one of your patterns too. My youngest sister got me started quilting 5 years ago when she wanted to do a round robin. We're still doing block exchanges and round robins. Thanks for the great giveaway.

Deb

I love this giveaway - thanks for the chance! A tidbit about me...I have no sense of smell...but my husband and all three of my boys have super-sensitive noses. Weird!

Jessica @ quiltyhabit

I started because I wanted a t-shirt quilt (they were too expensive to have made) and I never looked back... thanks for the chance!

Mary

Great giveaway! I started quilting after seeing a quilt made by a friend of my grandmother. I soooo wanted to quilt after seeing a grandmother's flower garden!!! lol

Kelly

What beautiful patterns! Thanks for the chance to win. I started quilting when I was about 7, but I finished my first full sized quilt when I was 17 and pregnant with my 1st daughter, I made it for her. It was made from squares and I spelled out "I love you"

My grandmother got me interested in quilting over 30 yrs ago and I decided to make a queen sized log cabin quilt for my girlfriend getting married - and that was pre-rotary cutter days - all from cardboard templates - it's a wonder it turned out and with the help of many older women who did the hand quilting (plus me!),my friend & husband were thrilled with it! Nothing like starting BIG - glad techniques and tools have changed since then - and the wonderful fabrics!

Delores Wagg

I would love a chance to win your giveaway! I started quilting when I retired and received a beginner's quilt course for a gift. I had sewn all my life, and still do other sewing, but quilting is a new love. Wool Applique is my most recent passion.

Dennis

Hi, I learned to quilt from my grand mother past. I would sit and watch her for hours. She did everything by hand. She had little cardboard templates that she would hold and cut around it, she never drew the pattern she hand stitched every stitch and I never saw her measure a quarter inch seam it was like she just knew what it was. She taught me how to do a lot of things with thread and yarn. I miss her this time of year. I was the only grand son she would take time to teach because I wanted to be close to her.Happy Holiday to You and Yours.

Debbie in WA

I love the bright happy colors of your quilts.
Wonderful giveaway! Thanks

sammyjo

I started after seeing so many people doing it on blogs and it just looked like so much fun so i thought id give it a go and it is fun :)

Kari

Thank-you for your giveaway! I'm not really sure how I began quilting ... something to do with trying to make a log cabin block with no instructions out of scraps cut with scissors ... it was a long time ago.

Marg

My daughter got me hooked on quilting. Now that I am retired , I am always looking for new ideas for another project.
Thanks

Marilyn

I love the way quilting is across the generations. I have quilted for a lot of years, and now my older daughter is buying charm squares so she can get started. My younger daughter has done the embroideries and appliques on quilt blocks and I have put them together. Hoping I will have keen grandchildren to follow the trend. So far I have 5 grandsons, so maybe one of them will take it up.

Darcie

What a generous give away! I started quilting almost 2 years ago and am seriously hooked! I look forward to Thursday night quilt classes at my LQS and Sundays when I have time at home to quilt.

Thank you for the opportunity to win! :-)

Sandra Timmons

My recipe is a simple one for dip: 1 package of cream cheese, softened; 1 jar of homemade chili sauce; and 1 can of tiny shrimp in a can. Put cream cheese in a small glass oblong dish; wash the shrimp; add to chili sauce and put over the cream chesse. Enjoy.

I have already seen two of the patterns I am in love with. You have a nice selection to choose from. You made it easy for letting us make the decision. Thank you for that and making the Blog Hop so much fun.

Sara

My favorite color combo is hot pink, turquoise, purple and lime green. I also like white, black and a bold color. Also love sunset colors, reds, oranges, yellows. I just love color! What I'm working on in the moment is always my favorite!

Gerri Richards

Your patterns are really fun! I love bright colours, love pink and orange together, and purple and turquois.

Beverley

I began quilting a little less than a year ago. My youngest son had recently passed away and I needed something to occupy my hands and mind so I created DanNy boy quilts in his memory. I stitch a hug into one corner of every quilt because he gave the best hugs and quilts are like hugs. He was an amazing artist and I hope that the quilts, I have created show a little of his talent. Thank you, to you and all the other quilters who have inspired me as I sew tears into stitches.

Katy (LethargicLass)

random it is :) my house smells like I washed it in curry and I like it! lol
